ISO certifications defined in the most lucid manner:

Smart businessmen are those who manage to derive huge business at low investment. Out of the many things that they do, one is getting ISO Certified. ISO certification works as a strategic tool that facilitates a business to outshine by lessening the cost of waste and errors. It not only benefits the organization in increasing its productivity but also its bottom line and branding besides helping an organization to add credibility by demonstrating that its product or service meets the expectations of the customers. For some industries, certification is a legal or contractual requirement.

ISO (International Organization for Standardization ) certification is a token of endorsement from a Certifying Body which verifies the fact that an organization follows international standards of operations and conduct developed and published by the (ISO).

ISO DOES NOT PERFORM CERTIFICATION

ISO develops International Standards, such as ISO 9001 and ISO 14001, but do not provide their certification, and do not issue certificates. This is performed by external certification bodies, thus a company or organization cannot be certified by ISO themselves.

How to use ISO Standards Certification?

When labeling a product or system as certified to an ISO standard we should never say: “ISO certified” or “ISO certification” rather say: “ISO 9001:2015 certified” or “ISO 9001:2015 certification”. You can not even use ISO Logo on the products as it is a registered trademark of ISO and cannot be used by anyone outside of ISO, unless authorized by ISO.

ISO 9001:2015 Certification

ISO 9001:2015 identifies requirements for a quality management system where an organization demonstrates its ability to consistently offer such products that meet customer and applicable statutory and regulatory requirements and aims to increase customer satisfaction through the effective application of the system, including processes for continual improvement of the system and the assurance of conformity to a client and applicable statutory and regulatory necessities.

 

All requirements of ISO 9001:2015 are generic and are intended to be applicable to all organizations, regardless of type, size and product providing.

The crux of ISO 9001 2015 is “The organization shall apply all the requirements of this International Standard if they are applicable within the determined scope of its quality management system” as per Section 4.3 of ISO 9001 2015

ISO 14001:2015 Certification

ISO 14001:2015 has replaced ISO 14001:2004.

This concept relates to the factors and conditions affecting organizational operation e.g. regulation, governance, and environmental conditions.

Environmental conditions are the elements of the environment which can be affected by the organization (air quality, water quality, land use, etc.), or those which can affect the organization (climate change, existing land contamination, etc.). Consideration should be given to the interested parties and their relevant interests e.g. employees, neighbors, customers, shareholders, board members, competitors, regulators, etc.

The needs and expectations of interested parties can become compliance obligations.

 

This standard supports organizations to protect the environment, check pollution, and progress their overall environmental performance. ISO 14001 is a useful tool for an organization to step up from just maintaining regulatory compliance to an organization with improved productivity and improved competitive benefit.

 

ISO 14001:2004 identifies environmental necessities that the organization identifies as those which it can control and influence. It does not itself state exact environmental performance criteria.

 

ISO 14001 is flexible – it is applicable to both small business and the multinational organization.

ISO 10002:2004 Quality Management - Customer Satisfaction Certification

ISO 10002:2004 provides guidelines on how to handle complaints related to products within an organization, including planning, design, operation, preservation, and development.

These procedures as described in ISO 10002 improve client approval. Encouraging customer feedback (including complaints) should offer opportunities to maintain or develop client loyalty and approval, and progress domestic and international competitiveness.

ISO 45001 Occupational Health and Safety Management

ISO 45001 is an International Standard that identifies requirements for an occupational health and safety (OH&S) management system, with guidance for its use, to permit an organization to proactively develop its OH&S performance in preventing injury and ill-health. ISO 45001 is intended to be applicable to any organization regardless of its size, type and nature. ISO 45001 enables an organization, through its OH&S management system, to integrate other aspects of health and safety, such as worker wellness/wellbeing; however, it should be noted that an organization can be necessary by applicable legal requirements to also address such issues
